I am a seasoned software engineer with a strong foundation in full-stack and front-end development, specializing in user experience, system architecture, and security compliance. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Lynchburg (2004) and have built a career spanning startups, enterprises, and government agencies.
My journey began at Dominion Enterprises in Virginia Beach, where I played a key role in transitioning legacy ColdFusion sites to PHP and led the development of the "Place An Ad" project for sites like BoatTraderOnline and RVTraderOnline. Seeking new opportunities, I moved to Northern Virginia to join the startup OnDialog.com, gaining valuable experience in an agile environment.
I later joined CIBTVisas.com, where I spearheaded the migration of their .NET sites to PHP, developed internal admin tools, and ensured accessibility and consistency across eight languages. My passion for front-end development and user experience led me to roles focusing on modern JavaScript frameworks, including React and Redux. As a Senior Consultant, I worked with can.js, npm, express, and webpack to implement professional service solutions.
With a public trust security clearance, I contributed to FEMA.gov, developing a React/Redux UI backed by Java Spring Boot microservices, ensuring 508 compliance and adhering to stringent security protocols. Most recently, as a Senior Systems Engineer at Intelsat, I led a scrum team supporting satellite network operations, modernized their PHP codebase, and developed custom WordPress plugins integrating LDAP login and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security.
